About Oddjobby

Oddjobby is a handy little kit for the fiddly jobs: joining a PDF, turning an iPhone photo into a JPEG, or checking what a UK salary looks like after tax. The file tools run in your browser. A document is not uploaded in order to be processed.

The site is published at https://oddjobby.co.uk. oddjobby.com is the same name, kept alongside oddjobby.co.uk.

What is on the site

PDF and image tools cover merging, splitting, and converting between JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and PDF. The money tools cover 2026/27 take-home pay, residential stamp duty for England and Northern Ireland, VAT, mortgage and loan repayments, capital gains and compound interest. There is also a word counter. Each tool has its own page, with a short guide underneath.

How the calculators are kept

Rates, thresholds and bands live in one file, with the GOV.UK, HMRC or Scottish Parliament page they came from. They are checked against those pages and covered by unit tests. If a figure cannot be confirmed, it is left out rather than guessed. The pages say what they do not cover, including Scottish LBTT and Welsh LTT.
