How the word cases split the text
Upper, lower and sentence case work on the letters in place. Title case, camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case first split the text into words on spaces, punctuation, underscores, hyphens and camelCase boundaries, then join those words in the new style.
“tidy up the fiddly jobs” becomes “Tidy Up The Fiddly Jobs”, “tidyUpTheFiddlyJobs”, “tidy_up_the_fiddly_jobs” and “tidy-up-the-fiddly-jobs”. Sentence case capitalises the first letter of the text and the first letter after a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
Questions
Does title case keep small words in lower case?
No. Every word takes a capital. It is a plain title case, not a newspaper headline style.
What happens to punctuation?
Upper, lower and sentence case keep it. The word styles drop it when they split words.
