WebP to JPG

Decode a WebP and save a JPEG or a PNG.

Runs in your browser. Your files are not uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Add one or more WebP images.
  2. Choose JPG or PNG. For JPG, set a quality from 60 to 95.
  3. Convert and download. More than one image is zipped.

Why convert WebP

Some forms, email apps and older tools still ask for JPG or PNG. Decoding happens here with a WebAssembly decoder, so a large WebP does not freeze the rest of the page.

Once you have a JPEG or PNG, JPG to PDF can place it on a page.

Quality

JPG quality 90 is a sound default for a photo. Lower it if you need a smaller file. PNG is lossless and is the better choice for a screenshot, a logo or a picture with text.

Questions

Are WebP files uploaded?

No. Decoding and encoding both run in a worker in your browser.

Can this convert an animated WebP?

It converts the image the decoder returns, which is a still picture. Use it for ordinary WebP photos and graphics.

Does PNG keep transparency?

Yes. Choose PNG when the WebP has a transparent background you need to keep.
